I was born and raised in Mexico City, where worked in the entertainment industry. Learning English in the US as an adult gave me a unique perspective on the language’s nuances. The Museum Of Latin American Art, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery and Torrance Art Museum have exhibited my work. I employ video, performance and photography in the way the mass media does, using humor and wit to delve into issues of immigration, cultural stereotypes, identity and being bilingual. As both an insider and outsider, I look at the machinations of American culture.
I received my MA from CSU Northridge in 2013, and am currently a Master of Fine Arts
candidate at CSU Long Beach through December 2017. I teach photography at CSU Northridge and in Moorpark Community College.
