In these digital collages I use representations of the Quinceañera tradition, the Virgin of Guadalupe, Cinderella with aesthetics used in advertising to question the social and professional expectations about Hispanic/Latin women.

In “Quinceañera” I explore the stereotype of Cinderella, blonde and slim like a Barbie, in combination with the Mexican tradition where a young woman is presented to society.

In “Queso,” I question the religious iconography that is found on the wall in any street market in Mexico, using the visual language of mass media.
