“Organic shapes that we find in fruits and vegetables are imitated by the designs of products that make our everyday life easier and better. The line blurs between basic needs and the desire to consume technology.”
Cintia Segovia was born and raised in Mexico City, where she worked in the entertainment industry. Learning English in the US as an adult brought a unique perspective on the language’s nuances. Ms. Segovia employs video, performance and photography in the way the mass media does, using humor and wit to delve into issues of immigration, cultural stereotypes, identity and being bilingual. As both an insider and outsider, she looks at the machinations of American culture.
Ms. Segovia has shown at: The Museum Of Latin American Art, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery and Torrance Art Museum
